I work on the parts of software that are hard: systems, performance and architecture.
I'm broad across the stack and deep in systems. I write game engines and compilers for fun, rewrite back-ends for a living, and I'm comfortable taking a product from the first diagram to a running deployment.

I plan with my team how the system is structured before writing it, and I can explain the trade-offs to people who don't write code.
I prototype the risky component early, in the language it deserves, instead of discovering the problem at the end.
Profiling and benchmarks drive the decisions. Numbers over adjectives.
The technologies change with the problem. The discipline underneath doesn't.
ATMO (ECS architecture, C++23) and RTYPE (Godot-inspired node system, client/server). Both embed Luau for scripting.
Written from scratch: lexing, parsing, semantic analysis, intermediate representation and code generation.
A multi-species cellular simulation iterated across multi-threaded, oneTBB and OpenCL (CPU and GPU kernels) implementations, benchmarked against each other.
For Cognitive Design Systems: the full interface of a Vue/Electron app built from a designer's mockups, then the whole back-end architecture reworked and migrated smoothly.

I boulder. Same habit as at work: study the problem, plan the sequence, then commit to the move.
I'm looking for technically demanding work: startups without a senior architect, performance and C/C++ problems and prototypes that need to become production systems.
